Dead Sea;

      Not only is the Dead Sea a geographic phenomenon, at 400 metres below sea it's the lowest point on earth, it also boasts an historical and spiritual legacy of its own and has become an international destination for visitors from around the world. It is believed to be the site of the biblical cities of Sodom, Gommorah, Admah, Zebouin and Zoar. It also sits amidst the great mountains of the biblical kingdoms of Moab, Ammon and Edom as well as the hills of Jerusalem to the west.

      Just a forty minute drive from Amman and with much of the landscape virtually unchanged since ancient times, the Dead Sea is a favourite spot for holiday makers and is famous for its warm salty waters as well as its mineral rich mud with which sun-bathers smother themselves. Spend at least a day sunbathing, swimming and dining and even spend the night at a hotel overlooking the sea. You will find all the facilities you require here from four star hotels and restaurants to therapeutic treatments for those with skin disorders and complaints.

      In addition, a trip to the delightful village of Hammamat Ma'in is a must if you enjoy the pleasures of thermal spas and bathing in steaming mineral waters. Like the Dead Sea, it is less than an hour's drive from Amman and comes with full accommodation and dining facilities.
